Randolph Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service

The community of Randolph has had a tradition of holding two ecumenical worship services every year. Our three churches, Methodist, Catholic, and Lutheran unite together to worship as one community. One service is held on the Sunday morning of the Randolph Community Fair in July and the other is a Thanksgiving service occurring the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving Day.

Offerings are collected at both of these services and all the proceeds are designated to the Randolph Ministerial Association, which helps not only those passing through Randolph needing assistance, but sometimes even helps pay heating or electrical bills for community members in need. At the Thanksgiving service, those attending also offer food items for our local Food Pantry.  

Last year the Lutheran Church held both the Fair Service and the Thanksgiving Service – as we will again in 2026. For the Randolph Community Fair we are hosting Diane Gubbels quilt show on Sunday, July 12th at 1:00 p.m. She is graciously donating her time to this event, which we are very grateful for!  

The Thanksgiving Service will once again be live Christian and Country music by the Prodigal Sons, and their fee is $600. The Lutheran Church pays the band fee, but we take up a collection from those attending for the Ministerial Association, which is funded by all three churches. There is also a food collection taken for the Randolph Community Food Pantry. The Ministerial Association and the Food Pantry are both community charities for the benefit of the needy. 

Because these services are intended for all ages of our community, we are requesting a grant of $600 to pay for the cost of the Prodigal Sons band at our Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service. They have proven to provide an uplifting and humorous spirit for our community in their past performances at our church, and people tell us they look forward to their next appearance!
